S. Renee Wilcox, DVM

Dr. Wilcox, our Chief of Staff, has been practicing at Countryside Animal Hospital since 1995. She grew up in Rhinebeck, New York and currently resides in Red Hook. She completed her undergraduate studies at Wells College (Aurora, NY) in 1990 and then went on to earn her DVM degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine (Ithaca, NY) in 1995. During school, Dr. Wilcox began working at Countryside Animal Hospital as a kennel attendant and receptionist. Once completing veterinary school, she was hired as the practice owner's first associate veterinarian. Her medical interests include soft tissue surgery.

When not working, Dr. Wilcox enjoys tennis, and is a member of a USTA women's tennis league. She also plays golf and loves to ski. She has a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Kirby, whom she calls her "bucket of love," a Bernese Mountain Dog, Piper and three cats, Casper, Emma Lou and Simon.
